It was an ardent desire since long to know about Swami Vivekanand. Initially I made efforts to search for his autobiography but all futile , as one of my friends said aptly- “Such legendary didn’t get time to write about himself. This task is left for others.” Meanwhile I got one translated version of biography of Swami Vivekanand by French author, but did not get satisfied, found it with dead soul. At last Todo kara todo came into my hand. I have read Mr.Narendra kohli earlier also through Mahasamar. No big surprise, I found him marvelous again this time . I forgot kohli while reading this series. His depiction is so lively that I felt as if all the incidents were just happening before me. In first volume “NIRMAAN” various aspects of Swami Vivekanand ‘s personality are discussed. How seriously vivekanand took beliefs of the world was told through a priest -episode in which one day child vivekanand – Narendranath waited for god in a banana-tree -garden since morning till afternoon ,as it was mentioned in sermon that god lives there. In second volume SADHNAA -journey of becoming a devoted student of Swami Ramkrishan paramhans is described in which Paramhans’ teachings unfolded the self. In third volume PARIVRAAJAK Vivekanand as a traveler, after renouncing the world , is introduced. In fourth, fifth and sixth volume respectively NIRDESH, SANDESH and PRASAAR -how did he spread his messages nationally and internationally –is narrated. Mr. kohli has immense depth in his writing. This entire series has made easier understanding of life and surroundings, interaction with self -with people, stages of self-etc. A must read for people like me who are wandering to know all these.
