Long back when I saw “life without limits” at a book fair in Hong Kong I had no choice but to leave this book unpicked because of over-baggage. But this time I placed the order without second thought as cover page of it, increased my respect towards life above all. Perhaps author is a god-fearing person. He has mentioned God, time and again, in entire book e.g.”…. god created you out of love” “…….god did not make mistakes……” “….you and I are god’s children”. No surprise, as he used to deliver lectures in churches. But overuse of word irks and one starts willing to skip those lines. Although there are some good suggestions - “Consider it pure joy, whenever you face trials of any kinds” or when he writes” neither my faith nor my sense of purpose grew strong until I went through some very scary times.” “Because I did not accept myself, I went off to school the next day and as a result found that acceptance from others was hard to come by.” The author gives voice to teenage feelings for looks in sarcastic way-“most kids fear they‘ll be mocked because their noses are too big or their hair is too curly.” Motivational when he says” …..you have to stretch beyond where you are to reach….” . ”…… to let your vision for your life be guided not by what you can see but by what you can imagine.”” You should never live according to what you lack, instead live as though you can do anything you dream of doing.” It is a universal truth- “……schools do not teach it. The essential truth is this: each of us has some gift- a talent, a skill…….”. This is to look life from different perspective when he says- “this is a marathon, not a sprint.” ”……help can arrive from unexpected places.” ”……you must accept yourself.” Some lines are aim setter- “if you find a way to contribute, you will find your meaning …” Defined life very nicely-“life isn’t about having, it’s about being.” Aptly said” you will find contentment when your talents and passions are completely engaged, in full force.” Quoting well others like NBA hall of fame-Jordan , at the same time” ……limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.” Positive thoughts about darker mood” …….a darker mood can make you look at your work more critically and analytically.” Hope at its extreme as the author says he has a pair of shoes in his closet. It is rather a brave gesture without having legs.Despite all these, the book does not have any binding force. Narration of incidents seems to be stretched. An average book to read, and perhaps same is the review- after all it is the extract of book :)
